County Of Hawaii Mass Transit  regulates taxicab rates. These rates apply to all taxicab companies and all drivers. The current meter rate is $3.00 for the first 1/8 mile plus $.40 for each additional 1/8 mile. Waiting time is 30cents per minute. Note drivers are all independent contractors and are not directly employed.
